Currently, Hi Rasmus allows users to add phase lines to graphs, but I would also like the option to add an event line/annotation that does not create a new phase or break the connecting data line.
There are many clinically relevant events I would like to document on a graph, such as a change in therapist, extended absence from services, change in service setting, medication change, or other environmental/contextual events. These events are important when interpreting data but do not necessarily represent a change in the treatment condition.
Currently, using a phase line for these events causes the graph to visually separate the data into different phases. This is particularly difficult when viewing cumulative graphs, such as accumulated targets mastered, because it breaks the continuous line even though the underlying program or treatment phase has not changed.
It would be helpful to have two separate annotation options:
Phase Change: indicates an actual change in treatment/program conditions and separates the data phases.
Event Line: marks a clinically relevant event/date for interpretation without breaking or restarting the connecting data line.
This would allow clinicians to document important contextual variables while preserving accurate and clear visual analysis of continuous data.
